At the start of the year we’ve been running a campaign called the Lovebomb; independent brands run giveaways and offers and we Lovebomb one brand a day. Why? Because independent brands don’t have corporations backing them and are the brands that take risks, look after niche groups and generally keep life interesting!
This Summer we wanted to do the same for swimwear; we’ve changed the format around and we’re trialling a big joint gift basket giveaway!

As usual we’ve had fun doing a photoshoot; Anna from Playful Promises shot Yazzmin very carefully so that we could send the images off to John Tyrell, who created these psychedelic, 60′s inspired Summer Of Love illustrations. Originally we had a completely different theme for the shoot – we were going to shoot with wellies and umbrellas and style the swimwear for the changeable British weather, but the minute we fixed all that up, suddenly, we had a proper Summer for the first time in years!
So clearly we’ll have to commit to that every year.
Anyway, this is our picture – it’s the deluxe swimsuit. We’re pretty rare in the land of swimwear in that swimsuits outsell bikinis – most people it’s the other way round, but evidently retro inspired women prefer a one piece! Originally the lace print one was the most popular, and then this turquoise and black version was featured in the Guardian, that hotbed of alternative fashion buyers, apparently, and took off . . . and now we’re nearly sold out. We’ll start voting on which swimsuits to make next year soon, but you can find our current styles here.
